From July 30th to August 9th, a 9-person delegation of Congressmen of the State of Illinois visited Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, and Guangzhou. Mr. Xie Feng, Counselor in the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, met with the delegation and exchanged views on Sino-US relations, Taiwan issue, etc. The delegation also met with Mr. Zhou Muyao, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Mr. Pang Jiayu, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of CCPCC and Mr. Zhong Qiquan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, exploring the ways to expand relations with these 3 localities in the fields of economy and trade.
